
Poppa with his sax, before he joined the AIF and was sent off to hold back the Japs in New Guinea. He wanted to join the navy, but when he was standing in line in Martin Place, Billy Hughes himself (ex WW1 era Prime Minister) said to him he would be better off in the Army.
