Thinning on top

Got my standard haircut today - Nº2 back and sides, Nº3 across the scone. After that, the hairdresser asked, in all seriousness, “Do want me to thin it out on top?”

I did 2 or 3 doubletakes, and ended up saying “Er, if you think it needs it?” She did.

Hands up how many people;
  1. remember Gerald Ford as US President and
  2. have the hairdresser thinning them out on top?
Anyone? No. Just me. So thanks to my dad's side of the family for the tenacious hair genes. Good one, Reeses and Stubbingses!

Too much hair

Michael looks like he has had a bucket of hair tipped over his head. Last time Elf took the boys for haircuts, he made a scene and flatly refused to be coiffed. We call him alternately Shirley (Maclaine, left) or Margaret (Pomeranz, right). He is nonplussed by these names, but not so much that he stops talking. I will be taking him for a haircut on Wednesday.

Hair Pants

Michael was invited to his first party a couple of weeks ago, but we couldn't take him, as the date and time clashed with the Planet Party at home. When Elf dropped Michael at school this morning, she met for the first time the mum who invited Michael. She and her husband seem lovely, but are very sharply presented every morning. We do our best of course, but we are not in their league. Elf was chatting to her when she realised that she still a pair of briefs on her head, holding her hair back. This is apparently to help her fringe dry, and I am smugly reporting it as I predicted a while back that she would get caught out one day.
