The Great Italian Drought

Despite the title, this is actually a (fairly accurate) description of the eruption of Vesuvius and destruction of Pompeii, in 79 AD. I borrowed this from Michael's desk at school.

PS - I asked him about the title and he said it was a mistake. It was meant to be the Great Italian Flood of Lava.

It will be interesting to see how he refers to the Iceland Volcano Incident.

WOOOO TOPICAL

Someone else's blog (I forget whose)* said that Iceland itself hasn't been affected much by the G.I.D.** and that we should all picture the Icelandians, for that is what they are called, sitting around naked in their hot tubs, drinking cocktails and laughing.

*this sounds facetious but I really did forget

**Great Icelandic Drought

We haven't brought up the GID at home yet. We are hoping to take the kids to Italy one day. When we mentioned this to Michael he used to be excited, but at some point he started getting concerned about another eruption covering us with bubbling lava. So now we are telling him we are going to Switzerland. The ... southern part of Switzerland.
